The International Fair of Galicia showground, officially inaugurated in 1996 by His Majesty the King Juan Carlos I, is an international congress and exhibition centre. Located in Silleda, in the geographical core of Galicia (Spain), it is 35 kilometres away from Santiago de Compostela and its International Airport. In addition it is less than two hours away from all Galician airports and main ports. The direct area of influence of this international showground is 10 million people living in the Northwest of the Iberian Peninsula.This exhibition site belongs to Foundation Semana Verde de Galicia, which manages both the facilities and activities held in the showground jointly with the Trade Fair Associtaion Semana Verde de Galicia. Both have been working for the last 31 years on the organisation and promotion os events in which important transactions take place, as well as opening to new markets.
The International Fair of Galicia has become a commercial bridge between Europe and America. It is a congress, training and activity centre for rural and regional development. The showground's total estension is 428,000 square metre. 55,000 square metres are devoted to exhibition areas and 7,050 square metres to the main building.
